Marriage or death

Once upon a time there was a Royal family, who lived in a big castle. The king married a queen and they had a beautiful princess. After some years the queen sadly passed away.

The king was so sad and he wanted his daughter to have a family. He talked with her about marriage so many times but she didn’t want to get married. Until she met someone. Workers, farmers and other staff would work for the king and would do the work around the castle. There was a poor farmer who would work outside in the garden. Once the princess saw him, she fell in love with him. She talked to him and she decided she will marry him. She quickly went to the king and told him she found the love of her life and that she is ready for marriage.

The king got so happy, his eyes got full with tears of joy and you could see the happiness in his eyes. That happiness didn’t last for long, as soon as the princess told him she wanted to marry a farmer his happiness turned into anger. “There is no way my daughter is marrying a farmer, that’s embarrassing for our family,” he said. The princess burst into tears. But that still didn’t stop her from talking to the farmer. She ran out the castle and saw the farmer working outside. She quickly ran to him and told him about the king. When the king saw them talking he got so angry and closed the princess in her room and let her think about the mistakes she was making. The king told the farmer that he is fired and that he should never come back to the castle. That still didn’t stop the love they had for each other. The farmer got a ladder and climbed up to the princess’s window. They had to do something. So, they thought of a clever plan. “We are going to put a sleeping pill into his morning coffee and he will fell asleep for some days. In that time, we can get married. After he wakes up we will come out with a lie and it will all work out,” they whispered. And that’s what they did. Before the king woke up the princess got sleeping pills in his coffee. The king woke up and he drank the coffee as he did every morning. After some minutes he fell asleep. The princess announced the wedding, and everything was getting ready. And it happened, they got married. They were so happy. After some days the king finally woke up from the long sleep. “Where am I?” he asked. “It’s okay dad, you were just sleeping,” the princess told him. “Asleep? For how long?” he asked. “For some days but it doesn’t matter, what matters is that I got married,” she told him.

The king was angry at first but after some time he found out that his daughter was happy with the farmer and that the farmer was a nice guy. He accepted the marriage, and everyone was happy. Their family started to grow, and the king became a grandfather. He found out that he should had never judged the farmer before getting to know him.
